Dec 17, 2025 — Metrics now in Limited Availability

Akamai Cloud Pulse metrics are now in limited availability for the Databases service.

Metrics are numerical measurements that provide quantitative data about the performance of your services over time. They capture important information like how much capacity a service is using, how quickly it's responding, or how much work it's handling. You can visualize them in dashboards, export them to external tools, or retrieve them programmatically using the Linode API.

Core capabilities:

  • Automatic collection: Metrics are automatically collected and stored for supported Akamai Cloud services.
  • Visualization and analysis: Metrics are displayed on dashboards that help you analyze performance trends and see changes over time.
  • Metrics export: Metrics can be exported for use with external observability tools using the Akamai Distribution of the OpenTelemetry Collector for Akamai Cloud Pulse.
  • Programmatic access: Metrics can be retrieved programmatically via the Linode API and SDKs.

The following dashboard features have been added since the beta release:

  • Filter by dimensions Limit the widget to data matching selected dimension values.
  • Group by dimensions: Split widget data into separate time series based on selected dimension values.
