Jun 30, 2021 — Two-factor authentication service updates

The Akamai Identity Cloud (AIC) service will undergo a maintenance update on 30 JUNE 2021 starting at 17:00 UTC. Updates will be completed in about 4 hours sequentially across all global data centers. The service will remain operational during this period with no disruptions expected for any AIC service.

  • When: 30 JUNE 2021, 17:00 UTC
  • What: The Identity Cloud 2FA service will undergo a change in how SMS messages are delivered. The outgoing messages will switch from the current format to a fixed toll free number format. The change only applies to the North American region and will have no impact to Identity Cloud services. In addition, the Webhooks service for the Identity Cloud will release an improvement giving our customers the ability to trigger the redelivery of specific events which have previously failed. The new Webhooks capability will be available for customer usage on July 15, 2021.
  • Component Area(s): OpenID Connect, Hosted Login, Registration, Webhooks v3
  • Duration/Impact: As part of the deployment of the new capability, a small period of downtime (less than 15 minutes) will be required for the Webhooks v3.x configuration service. During this time, the configuration service will be unavailable for adding or changing existing subscriptions. Event delivery for existing subscriptions will NOT be impacted.
