New features and improvements
- Guardicore Segmentation. Guardicore Platform Agent supports Guardicore Segmentation v54.1.0.
- General agent changes. This release includes these general agent improvements:
- Support for OpenSSL version 3.5.7 LTS
- gpactl, the offline utility that you can use to collect logs now supports verbose and non-interactive logs. For more information, see Collect logs with gpactl.
- Guardicore Platform Agent 7.5 does not support intel-based Mac laptops and desktops (x86_64 architecture). For more information, see Supported macOS versions.
- SIA Threat Protection. This release includes this update:
- Support for Zero Trust DNS (ZTDNS) on Windows. If Threat Protection is enabled, the agent now supports ZTDNS on Windows.
- Enterprise Application Access (EAA). This release includes these updates:
- EAA log improvement for device posture. Enterprise Application Access (EAA) logs now include details for device posture signal reporting failures. To help troubleshoot issues, these log messages contain the HTTP response error code and the device posture error code.
- Fallback improvement for EAA Edge Transport (beta). Edge Transport now recovers in an hour if a connection error causes it to fall back to Enterprise Application Access.
- Forward proxy support for EAA Edge Transport (beta). On Windows, the Forward Proxy supports EAA Edge Transport connections.
Known issues
The following issues are currently known in this release:
- If you enabled anti-tampering protection for the agent in Enterprise Center, users cannot roll back to a previous version of the agent on macOS with an over-the-air (OTA) update.
- On Linux, the process used to generate the Device ID has changed. As a result of this update, you may see duplicate device IDs in Enterprise Center for the same hostname.
- When using the EXE installer on Windows, a second installation window may open during or after the installation process. You must complete the process in the second installation window to successfully install the agent. If you close or cancel the second window, the installer removes the agent from the system.
- HTTP proxies currently do not operate with the Guardicore Platform Agent on Ubuntu. This issue will be resolved in a future update.
Limitations
This release includes the following limitations:
-
Windows EXE uninstallation. If you use the Windows Installed apps or the Programs and Features interface to uninstall an agent that was installed with the EXE installer, the uninstallation does not remove all agent components. This prevents you from successfully reinstalling the agent. This limitation applies to all Guardicore Platform Agent versions.
Workaround: To completely uninstall the agent, enter this command:<path-to-install-exe> /uninstallwhere
<path-to-install-exe>is the file path to the EXE installer. If you enabled anti-tampering, you cannot use this command. You must query the registry to find the uninstall command. For more information, see Uninstall Guardicore Platform Agent on Windows.
-
HTTPS proxy certificate revocation. Certificate validation cannot occur when an HTTPS proxy certificate relies on an online revocation endpoint that is reachable only through the proxy. In this situation, the validation check reports that the responder is offline and connections fail.
Workaround: Do one of the following:- Use a proxy certificate that has no revocation endpoints (recommended). Ensure that the certificate is issued by an internal Certificate Authority or is a self-signed certificate that’s trusted on your endpoints with no URLs for the certificate revocation list (CRL), online certificate status protocol (OCSP), or authority information access (AIA).
- Allow direct access to endpoints. If you need to use revocation endpoints, ensure that these endpoints are directly reachable and bypass the proxy through a direct path or explicit exception.
- Prewarm the Windows revocation cache. Proactively download and populate the revocation cache while endpoints are directly reachable. Validations that occur later are served from the cache until the next CRL update. Perform this task periodically.
Fixed issues
These issues were resolved in this update:
- Fixed an issue where hybrid tunnel applications failed to connect to Edge Transport, which caused a fallback to Enterprise Application Access (EAA) for 18 hours.
- Fixed an issue where the On-premises setting for Access was unexpectedly enabled.
