Jul 1, 2025 — Zero Trust Client upgrade groups now available
10 days ago
Zero Trust Client upgrade groups are now available. This new feature gives you precise control over how you roll out new client versions across your organization.
You can now create and manage distinct groups of users and assign a specific client version to each one. This enables a more strategic and safer update process. With upgrade groups you can:
- Perform phased rollouts. Gradually deploy new client versions to specific groups of users, minimizing risk and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Test new agent versions. Assign a new client version to a dedicated testing group before a full-scale deployment.
See the upgrade groups documentation to get started and create your first upgrade group.
This feature requires Zero Trust Client 6.1.0 or later.
Limitations and known issues
- The delete button for an upgrade group may not be visible if the connector or Agent ID associated with the group has become stale.
- If you disable and then re-enable an upgrade group, the previously selected client version isn’t retained and will need to be selected again.
- When a user is being moved between groups, they may temporarily appear under both the Upgrade Group and Pending Upgrade Group search filters.
- If you downgrade a group to a Zero Trust Client version earlier than 6.1.0, downgraded clients in that group cannot be upgraded or downgraded again using this feature.
