# User contact types

Get-IAMUserContactTypes

## Synopsis

View contact types for a user profile.

## Syntax

```powershell
Get-IAMUserContactTypes [[-EdgeRCFile] <String>] [[-Section] <String>] [[-AccountSwitchKey] <String>] [-ProgressAction <ActionPreference>] [<CommonParameters>]
```

## Description

Gets the supported contact types.

You should use the values from this operation to add or update your contact type.

If you're an admin, you should run the `Get-IAMAdminContactTypes` operation before modifying your user's contact type.

## Parameters
