Secure communication

Secure communication between a requesting client and the Akamai edge network and between the edge network and your origin is a vital part of content delivery. In most cases, you'll want to secure communication using an encrypted connection. The Akamai network uses certificates to encrypt the delivery of content. Akamai supports a few different certificate methods:

• Create certificates using Akamai’s Certificate Provisioning System (CPS).
• Create certificates while configuring how the Akamai network handles your content.
• Import your own existing certificates.
