With mutual TLS-secured (mTLS) web connections, both a requesting client and the Akamaiedge server validate the identity of one another. Each present a TLS identity certificate to the other, and each side verifies authenticity, during the "TLS handshake." Once verified, the identity information is used to authorize additional communication requests between the two.
This support includes:
- The new mTLS Edge Truststore application. It gives you self-service access to manage sets of mTLS certificates used by the client in the mTLS process.
- New features in the Certificate Provisioning System. Use them to add mTLS support in your edge server certificates.
- New behaviors in Property Manager. Add them to help enforce mTLS use.
Check out the tutorial for complete details on its setup.
