Feb 10, 2022 — Maintenance update

The Akamai Identity Cloud (AIC) service will undergo an emergency maintenance update on 10 FEBRUARY 2022 starting at 00:00 UTC. Updates will be completed in about 60 seconds and will only impact the European data region. There are no functional changes needing customer action, but a small window of downtime will be required.

In addition, the Akamai Identity Cloud (AIC) service will undergo a maintenance update on 10 FEBRUARY 2022 starting at 17:00 UTC. The service will remain operational during this period with no disruptions expected for any AIC service.

  • When: 10 FEBRUARY 2022, 00:00 UTC

  • What: The Akamai Identity Cloud is performing an emergency restart of several services due to an immediate AWS infrastructure health event. The emergency restart is expected to last 60 seconds during which time core services for Authentication and Registration will be offline. When complete, users may need to reauthenticate to re-enable their session. We apologize for such short notice and strive to minimize any impact to the availability of the Identity Cloud while complying with AWS emergency infrastructure updates.

  • Component Area(s): OpenID Connect, Hosted Login, Registration

  • Duration/Impact: During the 60 second maintenance window, core services for Authentication and Registration will be offline.

  • When: 10 FEBRUARY 2022, 17:00 UTC

  • What: The Hosted Login Service will be updated to introduce error hinting (an ID token can be crafted such that it contains the errors necessary to fail a login back to the RP correctly). In addition, the OIDC Playground will have a maintenance release to update dependency libraries and remove two unused demos (custom-login-page and embedded-login-form).

  • Component Area(s): OpenID Connect, Hosted Login

  • Duration/Impact: The service will remain operational during this period with no disruptions expected for any AIC service.
