# Set up authentication

<!-- curl@ -->

Before you can use this API, you need to [Create authentication credentials](https://techdocs.akamai.com/developer/docs/set-up-authentication-credentials).

Then, you can use these code samples to apply the token values to your requests.

# Pick a report

<!-- curl@1 -->
<!-- node@10 -->
<!-- python@11 -->

You first need a `reportId` value, which you can get from the [List reports](https://techdocs.akamai.com/edgeworkers/reference/get-reports) operation

# Set a time range

<!-- curl@2-3 -->
<!-- node@19-20 -->
<!-- python@19-20 -->

Specify a `start` and `end` range of time you want data for.

# Pick an EdgeWorker ID

<!-- curl@4 -->
<!-- node@21 -->
<!-- python@21 -->

Specify the `edgeWorker` you want to report on, which may match any `edgeWorkerId` value from the [List EdgeWorker IDs](https://techdocs.akamai.com/edgeworkers/reference/get-ids) operation. Optionally append a dash and a version number, which you can get from the [List versions](https://techdocs.akamai.com/edgeworkers/reference/get-versions) operation.

# Set an error status

<!-- curl@5 -->
<!-- node@22 -->
<!-- python@22 -->

Set the `status` error you want to report on

# Pick an event handler

<!-- curl@6 -->
<!-- node@23 -->
<!-- python@23 -->

Optionally pick one of the event handlers to filter down results by.

# Form the URL

<!-- curl@10 -->
<!-- node@13 -->
<!-- python@14 -->

Inject the various parameter values into the URL template string.

# Call the API

<!-- curl@1-100 -->
<!-- node@1-100 -->
<!-- python@1-100 -->

Call GET on the request URL.

# GET the report data

<!-- curl@0 -->
<!-- node@0 -->
<!-- python@0 -->

The response object's `data` object features time series data for each event handler.
