Mar 6, 2025 – CPS: Default certificate chain update

On March 6, 2025, Akamai will update the default trust chain for newly issued certificates from the current G1 hierarchy to the G2/G3 hierarchy:
- RSA certificates default to DigiCert Global Root G2
- ECC certificates default to DigiCert Global Root G3
This change affects all newly issued certificates after March 6, 2025. Existing certificates will continue to function as expected until they expire.
For enrollments using the default trust chain option, this update takes effect on the certificate's next renewal. To maintain your current default, update your enrollment from default to G1. For more information, see Select a trust chain and Community.
