# Create a CP code

If you don't already have a CP code, you can create one through Property Manager or contact your account team for assistance.

# Create with Property Manager

When you onboard your site, application, or any other asset in Property Manager, you can create a CP code directly from the [CP Code behavior](https://techdocs.akamai.com/property-mgr/docs/content-provider-code-beh).

> If you don't see the option to create CP codes in the CP Code behavior in Property Manager, and you need this ability, reach out to your account team.

# Create with other configuration products

You can also assign CP codes using other configuration tools. See [documentation](https://techdocs.akamai.com/home/page/products-tools-a-z) for Media Services Live, NetStorage, and Kona DDOS Defender.

If you need your billing reports broken down by reporting groups, you must add newly created CP codes to the appropriate reporting groups. See [Add or remove CP codes](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cp-codes/docs/add-or-remove-cp-codes).
