# Review Forward Rewrite setup tasks

Review the high-level steps to set up your Forward Rewrite Cloudlet.

**How to**

Before starting the Forward Rewrite configuration, review the overall setup process for this Cloudlet.

1. Verify that you can open Cloudlets Policy Manager:

   1. Open Cloudlets Policy Manager. From the Control Center menu, click **Content delivery > Edge applications > Cloudlets**.

   2. If you can't access the application, either contact your administrator or set up the [roles and permissions](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/config-permissions-cloudlets) for your Forward Rewrite users.

2. If using [Conditional Origins](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/about-conditional-origins), set them up in Property Manager.

3. In Cloudlets Policy Manager:

   1. [Create a Forward Rewrite policy](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/create-forward-rewrite-policy).

   2. [Configure rules](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/add-forward-rewrite-rule) for that policy.

   3. [Activate the policy](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/activate-cloudlets-policy-version).

4. In Property Manager:

   1. [Add the Forward Rewrite behavior](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/configure-forward-rewrite-beh) to the appropriate property.

   2. [Activate the property](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/activate-cloudlets-beh-prop-manager) on the staging network.

   3. Test the property changes in staging.

   4. [Activate the property](https://techdocs.akamai.com/cloudlets/docs/activate-cloudlets-beh-prop-manager) on the production network.
