Before you get going, take a minute to understand how to implement Cloud Wrapper.

Know the tools

You'll use different tools to manage separate configuration components:

• Cloud Wrapper. Use this to create and activate Cloud Wrapper configurations.

• Property Manager. Use this to add and manage Cloud Wrapper in your delivery configuration ("property").

Know the workflow

1. Add Cloud Wrapper to your contract. Contact your account team to see if it's compatible with your workflow.

2. Determine your capacity needs. Your account team will perform a footprint analysis on your property to determine your capacity needs.

3. Add capacity to your ​Akamai​ contract. Your account team will add the requested capacity to your contract.

4. Add capacity in the Cloud Wrapper portal. Your account team will add the capacity in the Cloud Wrapper portal. They need to do this for you before you can continue to the next step.

5. Create and activate your Cloud Wrapper configuration. Use the Cloud Wrapper interface to create and activate your configuration.

6. Add the Cloud Wrapper behavior to your property. Use Property Manager to Add a Cloud Wrapper behavior to your property.

7. Enable Cloud Wrapper. Use Property Manager to enable the Cloud Wrapper behavior. Identify the active configuration for your Location when enabling the behavior.

8. Configure your origin server. In the same property, you'll define how ​Akamai​ will contact your origin server to get your content. Cloud Wrapper leverages this information to move content from your origin to its caching layer.
