Oct 29, 2025 - App & API Protector Hybrid Reverse Proxy VM

The beta phase of a new deployment method for App & API Protector Hybrid is now available. This release introduces the App & API Protector Hybrid Reverse Proxy Virtual Machine (VM), a pre-configured image that combines the reverse proxy and Protector (the application engine) in a single VM instance.

You can now deploy App & API Protector Hybrid Reverse Proxy VM in the following environments:

AWS. Deploy the Reverse Proxy VM using a pre-built Amazon Machine Image (AMI) directly from the AWS console. A setup guide is available in our AWS deployment documentation that walks you through the AMI provisioning, configuring it in your environment, and securing it for production use.
On-premises (VMware ESXi). Use the provided OVA package to deploy App & API Protector Hybrid on your own infrastructure. The OVA file contains a pre-configured VM image that you can install directly on your ESXi host. This option allows you to run the Reverse Proxy VM within your data center, maintaining full control over your infrastructure and data.

This deployment model allows you to launch a ready-to-use VM without installing or configuring additional proxy software. Once deployed, you can define routing rules, manage TLS certificates, and enforce encryption for outbound traffic between the reverse proxy and your backend services.
