This release introduces Protector v1.6.0, an updated software engine for App & API Protector Hybrid deployments. This update brings the local SIEM feature, offering you greater control over your data residency and logging preferences.
Key highlights of Protector v1.6.0:
- Local SIEM support. If you prefer to keep your log data entirely within your own environment, you can now configure a local SIEM collector. With this method, Protector can redirect the security events directly to your local SIEM system.
- Logging switch. You can control logging in your App & API Protector Hybrid Security Configuration > Advanced Settings > Logging. When active, logs reach the Akamai platform and are exposed through the SIEM OPEN API. When deactivated, log forwarding to Akamai stops, and you configure your internal SIEM system to fetch the locally stored events.
- Local SIEM status indicators. You can monitor the operational state of your local SIEM directly in your App & API Protector Hybrid Connection Configurations page.
