Deprovision policies for shared edge hostnames

A shared edge hostname is assigned a deprovision policy. The deprovision policy controls how your hostnames are deprovisioned or deactivated if they share an edge hostname. Make sure to select the appropriate policy for your situation.

A deprovision policy is assigned by default when an edge hostname is shared by more than one property hostname.

The recommended mapping solution for edge hostnames and property hostnames is a 1:1 mapping, where one edge hostname is mapped to only one property hostname. That way, if a deactivation or deprovision request is made, there are no other property hostnames that will be impacted. If you have a shared edge hostname that's mapped to more than one property hostname, then it's important that you select the most appropriate deprovision policy for your situation.

De-allowlist property hostname without unmapping edge hostname from China.	The deactivation request fails because you cannot deactivate without unmapping the shared edge hostname. You must change your deprovision policy to allow the unmapping of the shared edge hostname in order to complete the deactivation request.	The property hostname is de-allowlisted and the edge hostname is not unmapped. If the de-allowlisted property hostname remains mapped (CNAMEd) to the edge hostname, any subsequent requests to the de-allowlisted property hostname will result in a denial of service.
Unmap edge hostname from China before de-allowlisting property hostname.	The shared edge hostname is deactivated. This results in degraded performance in China for all other property hostnames that share the edge hostname.	The edge hostname is unmapped and then the property hostname is de-allowlisted, in that order. This results in degraded performance in China for all other property hostnames that share the edge hostname.
